We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and positive individual to join our team as a Florist General Assistant. What You’ll Do (The Duties)
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service Excellence: Providing warm, professional service to all clients, both walk-in customers and those calling in to place orders or inquire about our services.
- Flower Care & Processing: Maintaining the freshness and longevity of our stock by expertly cleaning, processing, trimming, and hydrating incoming flowers and greenery.
- Delivery Support: Carefully and efficiently delivering floral arrangements to homes and businesses across the local area. (A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required)
- Shop Support: Assisting with general shop organization, cleaning, and preparation tasks to ensure a welcoming and orderly environment.
What You’ll Learn & Develop
This position is designed to be a launchpad into a full-fledged florist career. We are committed to your growth and will provide comprehensive training:
- Post-Harvest Flower Processing: You’ll receive focused training on the crucial techniques for processing and hydrating flowers immediately upon receipt from the farms after harvest, ensuring maximum longevity and quality.
- Floral Design Training: We will train you in the fundamentals and techniques of floral design.
- Arrangement Assistance: You will actively help our senior florists in designing and creating various floral arrangements, gaining practical experience that turns into expertise.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Hours: This is a part-time position, ranging between 25-35 hours per week. This flexible schedule is ideal for those seeking supplemental income, balancing family life, or easing into a new career phase.
